This match has all the makings to be a classic. Nobody thought Linette would make it this far but she has been playing phenomenally at this tournament. She has only dropped one set in five matches during the Australian Open.
She has probably had the toughest path to make it this far, other than Elena Rybakina. She faces off with Sablenka who is playing amazing tennis herself. The Belarusian is coming off a dominant win against Donna Vekic.
These girls will be playing on back-to-back days. Look for a tiebreaker to decide who wins the set. I feel that both of these girls will be able to hold serves and whoever's return game is better will win.
Sablenka is probably one of the biggest servers on tour but her consistency is always off. Linette has played big servers in this tournament and has taken them out all tournament long, so she won’t be afraid of her opponent.
This matchup will be a battle and I don’t see either of these girls bowing out easily. They have both dominated their opponents throughout this tournament.
I expect this match to have a lot of fireworks and be back and forth throughout. The over in this matchup should easily hit. So with this one, we are riding the over total games. I wouldn’t be shocked to see this be a three-set thriller!
