4 Minute ReadAlexander Bublik vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction: Can Bublik Roll Past Shaky Tsitsipas in Round of 64?
Alexander Bublik and Stefanos Tsitsipas meet in the ATP Madrid Round of 64 on Saturday, April 25 at 3:10 p.m. ET, and this is one of the more intriguing early clay matchups on the board. Bublik comes in with momentum and the higher current seeding, while Tsitsipas is still trying to recapture the level that once made him a top-three player and one of the most feared names on this surface.
That is what makes this spot so interesting. Tsitsipas is still a dangerous clay-court opponent on reputation, but his ranking has slipped badly over the last year, and he had to survive a three-set fight just to get through Patrick Kypson in his Madrid opener. Bublik, by contrast, has quietly put together a stronger 2026 than many expected, including an early-season title and a solid Monte Carlo run.

Alexander Bublik vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction
Bublik’s 2026 season has had real substance behind it. He won the Hong Kong title in January, reached the Monte Carlo quarterfinals, and has climbed into the top 20 in the live Race, which is a strong indicator that his overall level has been much better than the market sometimes gives him credit for. Even when he loses, he has generally been losing to top-end opposition rather than giving away matches to lower-tier players.
Tsitsipas’ story is the opposite right now. He was once a fixture near the very top of the sport, reaching a career-high No. 3, but by Miami he had slipped to No. 51 in the rankings, and his recent form has been uneven enough that even his wins have looked labor-intensive. His Madrid opener was a perfect example, as he needed three sets and two tiebreaks to get past Kypson for his first clay-court win of the season.
The matchup itself favors Bublik more than people might expect on clay. Tsitsipas still has the heavier clay résumé, including a Madrid final in 2019, but this current version has not been steady enough from the baseline to trust against a player serving and striking the ball as freely as Bublik. If Bublik protects his own service games and keeps Tsitsipas under scoreboard pressure, he can force the Greek into exactly the kind of tense, tight exchanges that have troubled him repeatedly over the last year.

Tsitsipas had to grind through a shaky opening match, his recent ranking slide reflects a real drop in week-to-week reliability, and Bublik has been the sharper player for much of 2026. At plus money, backing Bublik to keep the pressure on from the start and close this in straight sets is the value angle.
