Will Watford's top goalscorer score first tonight?

Emmanuel Dennis was Watford's top goalscorer last year with 10 goals last year and averaged 1.8 shots per game.

The Nigerian international has had a lot of speculation about his future but with the possibility of him starting tonight against Sheffield United, he could open his Championship account. Dennis can still be found at 6/1 to be the first goalscorer tonight.

Stats say BTTS in Watford vs Sheff Utd is unlikely

Both teams have scored in only one of Watford v Sheffield Utd's previous seven meetings. Currently, odds-against (21/20) for both teams to score NO tonight.

10:45 Monday

Tom Cleverley the value play in the card market

At 6/1 with one bookmaker, Watford's Tom Cleverley looks good value for a card as Watford starts their Championship campaign against Sheffield United.

The former Manchester United player picked up six cards last time he was in the Championship in the 2020/21 season and is as short as 3/1 with two bookmakers to see a card tonight.

Jonathan Hogg the value play in the card market

At 5/1 with one bookmaker, Huddersfield's Jonathan Hogg looks good value to pick up a card in the Championship curtain raiser this evening.

The 33-year-old is as short as 7/4 with several other bookmakers and despite only picking up four cards last season is no stranger to the book picking up nine and 12 cards in the 20/21 and 19/20 seasons respectively.

Who will outperform their odds in the Top Goalscorer market?

History suggests that longshots often do well in the Top Goalscorer market and can provide some ante-post value each way.

Newcastle's Callum Wilson currently sits at best odds of 50/1 despite being as short as 28/1 elsewhere. Meanwhile, Man City's Phil Foden is best odds of 125/1 at four places but as short as 50/1 with several other bookies.

Home form key to Olympiacos hopes

15:32 Wednesday

The Greek Super League champions boast impressive home form at the Karaiskakis Stadium, having lost only three of their last 28 competitive matches.

Tonight's opponents Maccabi Haifa, meanwhile, come into the second leg out of form, having lost their last four games in all competitions prior to the first leg draw in Israel. We expect the Greek side to prevail on the night at best odds of 5/6.

Germany most backed to set up England date

12:50 Wednesday

Since France qualified for tonight’s Euro 2022 Women's semi-final with a 1-0 win in extra time against the Netherlands last Saturday, 54% of supporters have backed Germany to beat them and reach the final against England at Wembley on Sunday.

You can get a best price of 8/5 for the Germans to progress against best priced odds at 21/10 for the French to reach the final, with a draw in 90 minutes at 9/4.

Sporting Cristal the value bet in Peruvian Primera Division

13:15 Tuesday

Sporting Cristal have won three of the last six meetings with Cajamarca, including a 6-1 away win last September. Their sole defeat across the six came when they received three red cards in a 2-1 reverse back in February 2020. They could be a value bet for a Tuesday or midweek acca at a best price of 19/13 through oddschecker.

Buck the BTTS trend in England's semi-final with Sweden

10:30 Tuesday

As part of his match preview for tonight’s Euro 2022 Women's semi-final between England and Sweden, George Gamble explains why he's taking on the favoured selection in the BTTS market.

"Yes, it is a semi-final and it may be a tense occasion but looking at both of these sides and how their respective games have panned out, I quite like both sides to have plenty of opportunities to hit the back of the net.

"England have been pretty ferocious going forward and look like a threat with each attack. In fact, the Lionesses have already scored 16 goals in this competition which showcases how potent they have been going forward. Now Sarina Wiegman’s side faces a Swedish outfit who have been made to work for their place in the semi-final of this competition.

"The visitors have to overcome resolute defences in this competition but they’ve found a way through each time. This will be the first game ‘The Blue and Yellow’ come up against an opponent who will look to play on the front foot and hurt them, meaning we could be in for an end-to-end match."

Swedes still finding favour with the oddschecker community

10:23 Tuesday

England might be odds on pretty much across the board (best price Evens) to make Sunday's Euro 2022 Women's final, but the bets have been pretty mixed through oddschecker - might there be a sting in the tale? At the time of writing, England have been backed in 49.4% of the match bets, with Sweden only marginally behind with 42.70% support. The draw is the least popular selection.

Wait and see on Burnley’s Championship chances

09:46 Tuesday

The ‘most backed’ data through oddschecker paints a slightly unclear picture as to the prospects of Vincent Kompany’s Burnley ahead of Friday’s Championship opener.

Since the start of July, the Clarets are the second most backed side for the Championship title after Norwich with 13.06% of the bets, but they have also taken 7.33% of the bets in the relegation market (fourth most after Friday’s opponents Huddersfield, Birmingham & Reading).

The Terriers, themselves, have received the ninth most backing in the title market, which all makes for an unpredictable season opener!
