Luton boss Nathan Jones is the early odds-on favourite to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl in the next Southampton manager odds market.
Following a run of one win in their last nine games, Ralph Hasenhuttl has been sacked by Southampton, with the Saints currently 18th in the Premier League. He has been at the helm since December 2018 when he took over from Mark Hughes.
He was the fourth longest serving manager in the Premier League, behind Thomas Frank at Brentford, Pep Guardiola at Manchester city and Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, but the board at Southampton obviously feel now is the best time to make a change - as the Premier League heads for a six-week break during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Who are the favourites to replace Ralph Hasenhuttl?
Nathan Jones
Luton Town boss Nathan Jones (1/3 best price) is the early frontrunner in the next Southampton manager odds market. The 49-year-old failed in his biggest managerial assignment so far with Stoke but has rebuilt his reputation in a second stint with Luton, taking the Hatters to the brink of the Premier League last season (falling in the playoffs to Huddersfield) and 8th this time around.

Marcelo Gallardo
The soon to be former River Plate boss, the team's manager since 2014, Marcelo Gallardo is the second favourite for the Southampton job. The 46-year-old Argentinian will depart River Plate when his contract ends in December.
Since Gallardo has been in charge, River Plate have won the Argentinian Primeira division as recently as 2021, as well as previous Copa Libertadores triumphs in 2015 and 2018. They are currently five points behind leaders Boca Juniors.

Kjetil Knutsen
Like Jones, FK Bodø/Glimt's manager Kjetil Knutsen is another name we've seen before in recent managerial markets. Having joined in January 2018, the Norwegian led the club to successive Eliteserien titles in 2020 and 2021. His side are 2nd in the table this year, 18 points behind runaway leaders Molde. Knutsen is currently a 16/1 chance to replace Hasenhuttl at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Sean Dyche
Another predictable inclusion in any new manager market is Sean Dyche (best price 20/1). Since leaving Burnley earlier in the year, Dyche has been linked with a host of Premier League and Championship clubs. Is the 51-year-old the man to reverse the Saints’ ailing fortunes?

And what about an outsider for the Southampton job?
Rafa Benitez (25/1) has been out of work since being sacked by Everton in January after just six and a half months at Goodison Park. Should he take the job at Southampton, it would be his fifth Premier League assignment after Liverpool, Chelsea (interim), Newcastle and Everton, where he paid the price for picking up just seven wins from his 22 matches in charge (31.8% win rate).
