Erik ten Hag is the favourite to follow Sheffield United’s Paul Heckingbottom as the next Premier League manager to be sacked.
Boyhood Sheffield United fan Chris Wilder is back at Bramall Lane for a second spell as Sheffield United manager, replacing the sacked Paul Heckingbottom.
The Blades are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table after just a single win from their first 14 matches, having scored just 11 goals and conceded 39 including five against relegation rivals Burnley last weekend.
But who is the favourite to follow Heckingbottom as the next manager to leave his post?
Next Premier League Manager to Leave Odds
Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag (11/8 on Sky Bet) and Nottingham Forest’s Steve Cooper (7/4) are rated the likeliest to follow Paul Heckingbottom as the next Premier League manager to leave their job, according to the latest bookmaker odds.
United stand on the brink of Champions League elimination, while they are 7th in the Premier League after six defeats from the first 14 matches before tonight’s visit of Chelsea.

United’s record against the other big teams is putting the pressure on ten Hag. Away from home, he has taken just a single point (2-2 at Tottenham in April 2023) in matches against the league’s top nine teams since taking the job in the summer of 2022.
Forest, meanwhile, have only won three out of 14 league games this season, putting them in 15th position and six points clear of the relegation zone. They travel to Craven Cottage to play Fulham on Wednesday night and another disappointing performance from Cooper’s side would see his odds plummet further.

Leon Blackman from oddschecker said: “Bookmakers are having their say on who they believe will be the next Premier League manager to leave their post following the sacking of Paul Heckingbottom. Steve Cooper and Erik ten Hag are the big favourites in the betting market as it stands.
“Cooper’s Forest team have only won one out of their previous 12 league games, leaving them 15th in the league. On the other hand, ten Hag and Man United have put in a multitude of disappointing performances this season, and are on the verge of elimination in the Champions League.”
