Next Chelsea Manager Odds: Hansi Flick favourite to replace Pochettino

Hansi Flick is the surprise name at the top of the next Chelsea manager odds market.

Hansi Flick is on the move in the latest next Chelsea manager odds having been cut from 16/1 into 6/1 with BetVictor in the last 24 hours to succeed Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.

Pochettino is reportedly fighting for his job after the Blues dropped to 11th in the Premier League on Sunday with a 4-2 home loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Flick has been out of work since being sacked as Germany manager in September of last year, having won just 12 of 25 matches in charge. He is a two-time Bundesliga winning manager from his 18 months with Bayern Munich.

Who is the favourite to replace Pochettino as Chelsea manager?

Hansi Flick is the bookmakers’ favourite to replace Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea manager at a best price of 6/1 on BetVictor (implied 14% chance).

The biggest rivals for Flick, at least according to the bookmakers, are Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi, the newly unemployed Jose Mourinho and Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso.

Since joining the Seagulls in September 2022, Roberto De Zerbi (best price 8/1) has taken Brighton to the semi-final of the FA Cup before narrowly losing to Manchester United on penalties, and guided Brighton to European football for the first time in the club’s history.

AS Roma parted ways with Jose Mourinho in mid-January following a poor run of form. He spent two and a half years with the Italian club, leaving the club 9th in Serie A after 20 matches played.

The 'Special One' (10/1) was quickly linked with a move to Newcastle but is now a short 1/3 (implied 75% chance) to make any Saudi Pro League side his next place of work.

Xabi Alonso (12/1), meanwhile, is enjoying an incredible start to his managerial career with German side Bayer Leverkusen, winning 42 of his first 66 matches in charge. The team are currently two points clear of Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich after 20 matches unbeaten (W16 D4).
