Elche To Stay Up In The Spanish La Liga Primera Odds Now 1/5

Odds on Elche to stay up in the Spanish La Liga Primera have shortened to 1/5 with Paddy Power, in from 4/11, as three of three bookmakers cut their odds.

The odds on Elche to stay up in the Spanish La Liga Primera have been slashed from 4/11 to just 1/5 with Paddy Power, and after a proper statement in Vallecas the bookies have every reason to move.

  • Three of three bookmakers have cut their odds, with Paddy Power, Skybet and Betfair Sportsbook all now quoting Elche at 1/5.

  • Elche beat Rayo Vallecano 3-0 on the road on 24 October 2026, with Federico Redondo, Fer Niño and Germán Valera all on the scoresheet.

  • Martín Anselmi's side have kept a clean sheet in their last three matches in LaLiga.

  • Villarreal at 1/200 with Paddy Power and Athletic Bilbao at 1/200 with Betfair Sportsbook are joint favourites, with Elche eighth-shortest at 1/5 with Paddy Power.

The catalyst is not hard to find. Elche went to Rayo Vallecano and came away with a 3-0 win that was effectively settled before half-time. Federico Redondo converted a 23rd-minute penalty won by Roy Revivo, and Fer Niño doubled the lead from the spot after Thomas Lemar won another. Rayo's best route back went begging when Pathé Ciss smashed a penalty against the crossbar just before the break, and Germán Valera added the third to finish the job.

That result did not come out of nowhere. A week earlier Elche held Villarreal to a goalless draw on their own patch, and the shut-out in Vallecas made it three clean sheets in a row in LaLiga. That stubborn back line is exactly what the market is pricing in: Elche have shortened to a best price of 1/5 with Paddy Power, in from 4/11, with three of three bookmakers cutting their odds. Martín Anselmi said afterwards that "it fills me with pride how the players compete", and it shows. This is the kind of unglamorous, organised away work that keeps sides out of trouble in any league, from the DStv Premiership to Spain's top flight.

Villarreal at 1/200 with Paddy Power and Athletic Bilbao at 1/200 with Betfair Sportsbook are joint favourites, with Elche eighth-shortest at 1/5 with Paddy Power. That leaves Elche outside the group the bookmakers already treat as safe, but priced well clear of the sides in genuine danger. Elsewhere in the Spanish La Liga Primera odds, Sevilla and Celta Vigo sit next in line behind the joint favourites.

  • Villarreal – 1/200 with Paddy Power, joint favourites and the side Elche held to a goalless draw.

  • Athletic Bilbao – 1/200 with Betfair Sportsbook, level with Villarreal at the top of the market.

  • Sevilla – 1/50 with Paddy Power, a fraction behind the joint favourites.

  • Celta Vigo – 1/25 with Skybet, rounding off the four shortest prices.

Will Elche stay up in the Spanish La Liga Primera?

Our view is that the cut is justified. The current Elche odds of 1/5 with Paddy Power carry an implied probability of roughly 83%, and a defence that has not been breached in three straight league outings is the main reason to buy into it. There are fitness worries to manage, though. Marc Aguado is out with an ankle injury until after the international break, and Fer Niño went off in Vallecas with lower-back discomfort. Encouragingly, Elche kept that clean sheet without Aguado in the engine room. Next up is a Copa del Rey trip to Atletico Pinatarense, before Valencia come to the Estadio Martínez Valero in LaLiga. Keep another clean sheet against Valencia and we would not be surprised to see this price cut again.
