Last year’s Rugby World Cup hosts are well-fancied to bounce back in the Six Nations.
Europe’s elite battle out to be crowned winners of the 2024 Six Nations, a tournament whose build-up has been dominated by talk of changes on the captaincy front.
Tournament favourites France will be led by Gregory Alldritt in the absence of Antoine Dupont, while Owen Farrell is replaced by Saracens teammate Jamie George as England captain.
For Ireland, Peter O’Mahony steps in for the recently retired Johnny Sexton and Wales lock Dafydd Jenkins stands in for the injured skipper Jac Morgan, while Rory Darge and Finn Russell have been named as the new co-captains for Scotland.
Since 2020 the Six Nations has had four different winners, with England (2020), Wales (2021) and France (Grand Slam Winners 2022) all claiming the famous trophy before Ireland completed a clean sweep of their own in 2023.
Will one of these four sides once again be crowned champions? Or will Scotland (Five Nations winners in 1999) finally break their Six Nations duck?
Let’s look at how the betting odds are shaping up.

Six Nations Favourites
France are the bookmakers’ favourites for the 2024 Six Nations title with a best price of 13/10 on Betway for Fabien Galthie’s men to claim a second championship in three years.
Les Bleus are as short as 11/10 but are generally priced at 6/5 with the majority of bookmakers despite their early Rugby World Cup exit at the hands of the title-winning Springboks. They are also the 5/2 favourites on BetVictor (implied 28% chance) to win the Grand Slam.
Defending champions Ireland are a best price of 9/5 to retain their crown on Star Sports even without talismanic former captain Johnny Sexton. England, meanwhile, are considered the likeliest winners of the remaining four nations under Steve Borthwick.

England Six Nations Odds
England are a best price of 13/2 to reign Europe for the first time since 2020. Borthwick’s side came so close to the Rugby World Cup final in October before losing to the eventual winners South Africa.
Despite their recent inconsistency, England remain the most successful side in the Six Nations era with seven tournament wins. France and Wales have six apiece.
