There was a big change towards the top of the Eurovision odds market after the first semi-final for the 2025 song contest.
One country has made a big move in the latest Eurovision odds market after qualifying from last night's first semi-final in Basel.
The participants last night were: Iceland, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Ukraine, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, Belgium, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Albania, Netherlands, Croatia, Cyprus, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
Italy and Spain were guaranteed a place in Saturday's grand final as part of the 'Big Five', while Switzerland were afforded the same luxury after winning last year.
That means the following 10 countries qualified last night: Iceland, Poland, Estonia, Ukraine, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, San Marino, Albania and Netherlands.
Estonia's semi-final performance has seen them cut from 10/1 into 8/1 best price to win the televote (William Hill) - an outright selection for oddschecker's Sam Eaton.
The five countries falling at the first hurdle were: Slovenia (tipped not to qualify by Eaton), Belgium, Azerbaijan, Croatia and Cyprus.

The biggest market movers after the first semi-final were Netherlands - as big as 33/1 with some bookmakers over the weekend and 22/1 just yesterday, they are now as short as 10/1 with one bookmaker (best price 16/1 with AK Bets).
The Netherlands have also been the second most backed country to win Eurovision since the conclusion of semi-final 1 - only market leaders and Eaton's headline outright selection Sweden have taken a greater share through oddschecker.
Sweden has topped both the Eurovisionworld poll and oddschecker’s betting market going into this year's contest - when a country has led in both categories, they’ve gone on to win six out of the last seven times.
The Netherlands are out for redemption in 2025 after their 2024 act Joost Klein was banned from the grand final just hours before it took place in Malmö after a female camera operator accused him of "threatening" behaviour.
Despite Netherlands' strength in the overnight market - implying they did well in the semi-final voting - Eurovision bettors should know that bets on the winner of the semi-finals won’t be settled until after the Grand Final, as official results for the semis aren’t revealed until then.
