Derek Chisora vs Joseph Parker has the potential to be a firecracker, and boxing expert George Ellis brings you a nicely-priced betting tip for Saturday evening’s bout. Will Britain or New Zealand come out on top?
22:30 Saturday - Derek Chisora v Joseph Parker
The fight we’ve all been waiting for will take place on Saturday.
Dereck Chisora and Joseph Parker almost met in October 2019, but Parker fell ill after a spider bite and the bout was scrapped. Fast forward to May 2021 and both fighters are coming into this needing to win, as a defeat will likely mean leaving the conversation for a world title fight.
Parker is seen as the odds-on-favourite to win the bout at 8/13 and Derek ‘Del Boy’ Chisora can be backed at 13/7.
The New Zealander is coming into the fight on the back of four consecutive wins, after picking up back-to-back losses against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte in 2018.
Veteran Chisora is most recently suffered a unanimous points defeat against against Oleksandr Usyk – the 10th loss of his career, so he very much has something to prove on Saturday.
Parker will be the more confident of the two men; he has the height, age and reach advantage over Del Boy. The only way you can see Chisora realistically winning is by knockout, which is priced at 7/2, but I believe the fight will go all the way and Parker will win on the cards, which is priced at 37/20.
