Usyk vs Joshua - Winner

Both Barry Jones and Declan Taylor joined host George Elek on the oddschecker preview of the huge heavyweight title fight between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.

Uysk and Joshua go to battle for a second time on Saturday night after the Ukrainian defeated Joshua by unanimous decision in the first fight last September.

Nearly 12 months on, the two will lock horns again Saturday night, this time in the Saudi capital of Jeddah, rather than the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London.

Parimatch are offering 40/1 for a Usyk win for new customers when they sign up before this weekend’s fight – 18+ T&C’s Apply. Click on the offer below for more information.

Usyk vs Joshua 2: Predictions & Betting Odds

Both guests on our Betting Show podcast agreed when asked for their big fight predictions ahead Saturday night’s main event.

Barry said: “Usyk does what he does best and makes you work hard. Joshua will be extremely fit, but he’ll have to be more aggressive and with that is the caveat that you gas out.

“I think Joshua’s energy will deplete if he doesn’t get Usyk out there early. When you get to round seven, eight, nine, he (Joshua) will be knackered and Usyk will keep punishing him, and by round 10, he will be a big target to tag. I think he’ll stop him late.”

Declan added: “I think 10/1 (for Rounds 10-12) is a huge price (worst price 6/1), we saw the pattern of the first fight. If Joshua decides to put more in the first rounds this time, he’ll be knackered and if Usyk is bigger than the last fight, he will just get the stoppage.

“Most of his stoppages at cruiserweight have come in seven, eight, nine and with a heavyweight in front of him 10, 11, 12 looks like a really good price and a likely outcome for the fight.”

Usyk vs Joshua 2 Betting Tips from Declan Taylor

Betting Tip - Usyk to win by Decision

“If you see this fight playing out similarly to the first, Usyk by decision is 15/8 with Parimatch and that’s covering all decisions(Split/Unanimous), which is not out the question. If it goes the distance, Usyk wins on points. Joshua winning on points is the least likely outcome, more so than the draw.”

Betting Tip - Total Knockdowns Over 1.5

“You only need two knockdowns in the fight to win (best price 13/8 on Parimatch), which is solid. For Joshua, you only must look at the Andy Ruiz fight, where he gets knocked down and back up again. So, if Usyk does walk him down and tries to put it on him, the chances of AJ going down once are very high and the second one could well follow.

“Usyk’s not a concussive puncher that’s going to put him away to sleep the knockouts he’s had over his career is where he’s grinded his opponents down. So that looks like a very good price, especially if Joshua is going to try and walk him down, maybe he drops Usyk as well.”
