Oddschecker expert Dom McGuinness has picked out his favourite bet from the Paul vs Perry fight this weekend.
04:00 Sunday
Jake Paul has filled the Mike Tyson-shaped void in his life by challenging former UFC star-turned bareknuckle boxer Mike Perry on the night he was due to face baddest man on the planet.
An inflamed ulcer suffered by Iron Mike has put the original fight back to November 15, so Paul has decided to stay busy, but is it risky business, or business as usual for a man who has form for beating up former MMA fighters?
Jake Paul vs Mike Perry Preview
In his last fight, number ten as a professional boxer, ‘The Problem Child’ made easy work of 35-year-old Ryan Bourland with a first round TKO. To date, Paul has beaten only one actual boxer - the limited Andre August – his other victories coming against youtubers, basketballers or former MMA fighters. His only loss came against Tommy Fury – another boxer, although not a stellar one.
Perry is another opponent with a background in UFC and has won each of his five bare-knuckle boxing fights since making his debut two years ago. His one professional boxing fight ended in stoppage defeat to Kenneth McNeil.
Jake Paul vs Mike Perry Tips
This fight is scheduled for eight rounds in the cruiserweight division – the weight will suit Paul who is the bigger man. That said, expect Perry to be on the front foot from the first bell as he tries to make it a dogfight.
Ultimately, his lack of defence will be the key and after an entertaining few rounds, Paul’s superior boxing skills will be the difference and result in a stoppage around the halfway point.
