Boxing writer, Tom Eaton, gives us his betting tips for the Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua fight, plus a couple for the undercard.
Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua
On Friday night, Jake Paul attempts one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history as the YouTuber-turned-boxer takes on two-time conqueror of the division, Anthony Joshua.
Despite 13 professional contests to his name, this will only be Paul’s second outing at heavyweight, with his maiden contest at the weight coming against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, who had undergone almost two decades of inactivity beforehand.
Here, Paul takes on an Anthony Joshua that challenged for world honours last year and remains a worthy title contender, that is also hoping to tee up a long-awaited and lucrative showdown with Tyson Fury.
As a result, the Briton will not lack motivation and understandably sits as an overwhelming favourite, ahead of what many predict will turn out to be a complete mismatch.
Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua Betting Tips
Joshua has fought on U.S. soil once prior, when he was famously halted by Andy Ruiz Jr. in a first career defeat and subsequently lost his unified heavyweight world titles back in 2019.
It’s fair to say that the Watford-born powerhouse has not looked the same since, with that clash raising concerns regarding his chin, confidence and lack of aggression before each fight that has followed.
Last time out, Joshua went gung-ho as he sought an authoritative beatdown of Daniel Dubois to regain the heavyweight throne. Instead, he was dealt a damning defeat by ‘Triple D’ and the lasting impact of that knockout loss remains to be seen.
That being said, Paul failed to stop former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in June and can be expected to lack consequential power as a heavyweight, opening the door for ‘AJ’ to walk fearlessly through his punches.
With little to deter Joshua from coming forward and thus prevent an early onslaught, a speedy Joshua victory has to be the prediction, with the referee likely to intervene and save Paul for another day if things become overly one-sided.
Although, it is a big occasion and Joshua has recently switched trainers, so don’t be surprised if there is a slow start that lures Paul into a false sense of security before he is dismissed.
As a result, I believe that Joshua in Rounds 3-4 is where the value lies (7/2) but I would also cover an abrupt end with Joshua in Rounds 1-4 (4/9) in any accumulators.
Joshua to Win the Fight in Rounds 3-4 – 10/3 – 1.5pt stake advised

Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua Undercard Betting Tips
Cherneka Johnson vs Amanda Galle – Johnson by KO/TKO (5/2)
Australia’s Cherneka Johnson could score a third consecutive stoppage win in an attempted first defence of the undisputed bantamweight crown against 36-year-old Canadian Amanda Galle.
‘Sugar Neekz’ has developed her power during 2025, appearing more comfortable at the weight in her most recent outings, having moved back down from the super-bantamweight scene last year.
Galle lacks experience at the elite level and against an in-form Johnson, she may well find herself to be both overmatched and outgunned.
Yokasta Valle vs Yadira Bustillos – Valle by Decision or Technical Decision
WBC minimumweight world champion Yokasta Valle has lost just once in her last 21 bouts - that defeat coming to the excellent Seniesa Estrada in an undisputed title showdown last March.
At 105lbs, the Costa Rican is the woman to beat now that Estrada has hung up the gloves and Nevada-based Bustillos has done little to prove that she is a threat to Galle’s reign, losing in her only other outing against a world level operator.
Still, Valle has registered just one win inside of the distance since February 2020 (14 contests), so 4/9 seems a favourable price for a triumph via the cards.
