Three countries, three matches, three results. Check out our 10/1 European treble!
Mainz v Bayer Leverkusen - 19:30
We begin in Germany, where I have in-form Bayer Leverkusen beating Mainz away from home.
The visitors have won four of their last five Bundesliga matches – including a victory over Bayern Munich last time out. More tellingly, Bayer have won their last two away games against Schalke and Wolfsburg, which is why I believe they have the momentum to power to victory.
Mid-table Mainz are certainly no mugs, and have won two of their last three in the league (albeit against 16th and 17th place Stuttgart and Nurnburg respectively), although against a side as strong as Bayer, I still see them falling to defeat.
Chievo v Roma - 19:30
Chievo have just nine points from their 22 Serie A matches (they started the season on -3 points), leaving them rock bottom of the league and looking doomed. I’m backing them to lose at home to Roma, who lie one point outside the Champions League places.
I Giallorossi, who are unbeaten in five, threw away a 3-0 lead during their last away game, but I can’t see them being quite so charitable on Friday.
Valladolid v Villarreal - 20:00
In Spain, I have Real Valladolid and Villarreal playing out a draw in their massive relegation six-pointer.
Villarreal sit second-bottom of La Liga, five points from safety and six behind their hosts on Friday. El Submarino Amarillo are winless in nine matches, although six of those have been draws, which is why I’m backing the stalemate.
Valladolid are in poor form themselves – winning just two of their last 13 in La Liga – though I don’t believe Villarreal are good enough to exploit this.
Backing a draw here nicely boosts this treble to 10/1.
