17:45 Thursday

Man United are targeting a place in the Europa League round of 16 as they face La Liga leaders Barcelona in the first leg at the Camp Nou.

Xavi’s men hold an 11-point lead in La Liga and his team has been outstanding since the turn of the year, having not faced defeat in all competitions.

They are the league’s top goalscorers with 43 goals scored but defensively they have been assured having conceded only seven goals in 21 La Liga games.

Man United have come on leaps and bounds since the arrival of Erik ten Hag, with Rashford developing into a ruthless goalscorer and new signings Casemiro and Martinez hitting the ground running. The former Ajax boss will forward to the challenge Barcelona bring when his side plays them on Thursday.

Barcelona vs Man United Bet Builder Tips

Frenkie de Jong over 3 tackles

A lot of speculation was made about Frenkie de Jong’s future last summer, with the Dutchman seemingly out the door and Man United the possible destination but he has proven he is more than capable of playing in Barcelona colours and remains one of Xavi’s most trusted midfielders.

De Jong averages around two tackles a game whilst playing at home, the most of any Barcelona player, and with the possibility of Manchester United playing more on the transition, he’ll be asked to cover more ground to help snuff out any potential counterattacks with Sergio Busquets injured.

The 25-year-old has more experience than most with ten Hag having played under his countryman at Ajax and will understand how to break up play under ten Hag’s system.

We fancy him for 3+ tackles in the match.

Casemiro over 4 tackles

Since his arrival from Real Madrid, Casemiro has become one of the most important players at Man United. The 30-year-old averages an astonishing 3.6 tackles away from Old Trafford and he will be a key figure for United’s hope of coming away from the Camp Nou with a result.

Casemiro is one of United’s leaders and with his strong connections to Real Madrid he’ll be pumped up for this one, so we fancy the 4+ tackles angle for the Brazilian midfielder.
