Arsenal head to Molineux to take on Wolves this weekend as they look to go back to the top of the Premier League with Manchester City in Premier League action.

The Gunners have arguably been the strongest team in the top tier of English football this campaign but things are in danger of unravelling at the end once again.  Arsenal spent heavily to bolster their already strong squad in the summer so anything other than a trophy to show for it would be disappointing.

Wolves started the season in turmoil so this season has been a tremendous success. Julen Lopetegi’s departure on the eve of the Premier League season left many fans fearing the worst but Gary O’Neil has done an excellent job with the team currently sitting in 11th place.

Arsenal To Win

Arsenal’s defeat against Bayern Munich means they have suffered back-to-back defeats for just the second time this season. The Premier League is now their last hope of silverware this season. Mikel Arteta’s side need to get back on track when they face Wolves. The Gunners have shown they can respond to adversity and I fancy them to win here as a result.

Arteta’s men responded to a couple of defeats just after Christmas by putting an unbeaten run of 11 league matches together. They were averaging 3.45 goals per game over that period and conceding just 0.36. That winning run came to an end against Aston Villa last weekend.

Wolves have done well this season but their form has dipped in recent weeks. Gary O’Neil’s side are without a win in their last five matches. They have lost their last two home games against West Ham and Coventry respectively.

Joao Gomes Over 1.5 Fouls

Wolves will need to show a bit of bite to disrupt Arsenal’s rhythm here.  The Gunners have one of the most dangerous attacks in England’s top flight and can really hurt you if you allow them to get in their stride. As a result, we have a fouls bet for this one.

Gary O’Neil’s side are well versed in the dark arts. They are averaging 12.44 fouls per game this season, only Bournemouth have committed more in the Premier League. The midfield battle promises to be a crucial part of this game. Arsenal love to flood this area of the pitch so I’m expecting plenty of Wolves fouls in the centre of the pitch.

Joao Gomes has been the most frequent offender in the Wolves team. The midfielder has committed 52 fouls in the Premier League this season, which translates to 2.2 fouls per 90 minutes played. He has been booked in his last three matches and will be right amongst it once again.

Under 10.5 Corners

Arsenal’s away matches in the Premier League this season have seen an average of 10 corners per game. There were just four corners when they faced Wolves earlier in the season. This betting angle also won the last time they visited Molineux.

Gary O’Neil’s side have played five home games in the league in 2024 and those have seen an average of nine corners. They are restricting their opponents to 4.4 corners on average during that run. Wolves are also likely to be starved of corners here as they face an Arsenal side that are conceding just 3.06 corners per Premier League away game.
