MOUNT SINAI (best price 13-2) was ridden in a such a fashion she could never land a meaningful blow at Galway last time out, but it was still a fine effort under the circumstances, and she is well worth another chance to show her true colours in this slightly weaker affair.

Unlike how most of Willie Mullins’ tend to be ridden, she was dropped right out the back in a very competitive mares’ contest at Ballybrit and it wasn’t until on the approach to the home turn when she was asked to make a move. By then, the race was virtually over for her as far as winning was concerned but it was pleasing to see her finish so strongly in the latter stages and it was a performance that could be built on in the future.

The fact she had a hood on for the first time and was sent off 28-1 suggested she might be a project for another day and with her entitled to come on for the run after her first outing for 215 days, the daughter of Mount Nelson can be expected to play a more significant role.

ROYAL HOLLOW (best price 3-1) was a bit sticky at the odd hurdle n at Ballinrobe last time out, but it didn’t prevent her from winning in emphatic style, and if ridden in a similarly aggressive fashion from the front here this evening, she is fancied to put it up to the Willie Mullins pair, who also arrive here following victories last time out.

Keen to get to the front in the early stages at the Mayo track, Andrew Slattery’s mare soon established a decent rhythm that led to her building up a decent advantage and at no point did she look like relinquishing her lead.

Despite being slightly awkward at the last, she gained ground at every other obstacle and with today’s sharp track providing her with every chance to get breathers in at the bends, hopefully she will have enough left in the locker for the push for the judge turning for home.

Kitesurfer was going well enough when falling last time out to suggest he is worth plenty of respect in this similar contest, but slight preference goes in favour of KISS MY FACE (best price 13-2), who has the advantage of winning C&D form.

Encouraging when fifth on his first outing at the Midland venue for new connections, the seven-year-old returned a week later to contest a similar handicap and having raced just in behind the pace throughout, he picked up the running two out to draw clear to the tune of 31 lengths.

Although you could argue he was slightly flattered to win by so far, the speed figure he posted suggested there was no fluke about the performance and providing he is ridden in a similar fashion on his return visit, Alistar Ralph’s gelding should be good enough to hold his own in this stiffer assignment.
