Teahupoo and Kabral du Mathan head the market for the Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle on Day 3 of Cheltenham.
The Cheltenham Festival’s 15:20 Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle on Thursday brings together a terrific field of proven routers and rising stayers, and could shape up as one of the most competitive contests of Day Three. The 3‑mile test over Cheltenham’s New Course not only demands stamina but tactical speed turning for home, making this one of the true championship races of the meeting.
Market leader and favourite: Teahupoo heads the betting after an excellent season, which included a strong performance in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown where he beat Bob Olinger, the 2025 Stayers’ champion, comfortably. That winter win and his established staying prowess have made him a firm favourite to claim back the crown he won in 2024.

Expert Betting Tips for the Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle
Jake Price - Honesty Policy
I am on HONESTY POLICY at a huge price in my Cheltenham Festival Ante-Post column, and I certainly would not be abandoning him now with the drying ground at Prestbury Park right up his street. He ran a belter in the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot where he was up against two race-fit rivals in Impose Toi and Strong Leader, but there simply has to be more improvement to come from him considering that was only his first start in open Grade 1 company. He has huge claims here, and I would still have a 1pt Win bet at the current prices available.
Rishi Persad's Tip - BOB OLINGER
Best odds of 15/2 at Unibet while publishing.
Has an exceptional record at Cheltenham and the Festival in particular. Defeated Teahupoo in this race twelve months ago and finished a fine second behind that rival in the Christmas Hurdle this season. He may be eleven years old now, but he’s only had 15 career starts on only two races since December 2024. He can win it again.
