Fantasy Football Buy Low, Sell High: 12 Trade Candidates Ahead of Week 3

If you're looking to make some moves before the Week 3 slate in the NFL, you've come to the right place. Some players are performing at a very high level to start the season. But some of these players might have reached their peaks. Meanwhile, other players aren't seeing the ball enough but are expected to be significant contributors down the line.

Here's a list of players you can buy low or sell high ahead of Week 3 in the NFL.

Fantasy Football Players to Buy Low in Week 3

Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants

Barkley broke out in Week 1 with a monster performance that led to him winning the Offensive Player of the Week award in the NFL. In Week 2, Barkley had 24 carries for 88 yards. For the second straight week, Barkley played nearly 90% of the team's snaps. In fantasy football, you live for these types of players. You want those guys that are constantly out on the field. Barkley is that guy.

Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have been competitive over the first two weeks of the season. Drake London is Marcus Mariota's favorite target. He's getting a ton of targets and is making some big plays.

He's averaged over 70 yards per game receiving and deserves some recognition. At this point, London's the Offensive Rookie of the Year. He's even better for a keeper or dynasty league, knowing he's a rookie. Garrett Wilson of the Jets is also another name to think about.

Cam Akers, RB, Los Angeles Rams

Sean McVay is just playing with fantasy owners at this point. Akers led the team in carries in Week 2 after Darrel Henderson led the team in carries in Week 1. Akers isn't giving you Barkley-like production, but for a Rams team that figures to be leading a lot this season, Akers will still get his fair share of carries and yards, despite rarely playing in Week 1.

Buy him up.

Dameon Pierce, RB, Houston Texans

It looked like Rex Burkhead was the lead back for the Texans in Week 1. But that wasn't the case in Week 2. Dameon Pierce got 16 carries and had 62% of the snap share in Week 2 after seeing under 30% in Week 1.

Pierce is much more talented than Burkhead, and if the Texans feel he's ready, you will want to buy him. Houston has also been pretty competitive so far this year. In close games, they will want to use their best playmakers. Pierce is that guy.

Fantasy Football Players to Sell High Before Week 3

Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints

I'll add Alvin Kamara again. He didn't play in Week 2 due to an injury. That's already concerning. Kamara's touches will be limited as long as Mark Ingram is around. Kamara is still a do-it-all running back. He can still put up some outstanding numbers. But it's not worse the risk if you can get someone more consistent in your return in a trade that includes Kamara.

Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

Ekeler saw more opportunities in Week 2. I'd sell him off after a week like that, knowing that Sony Michel earned a goal-line carry and Joshua Kelley had a red zone carry. Like Kamara, Ekeler could put up RB1 stats all day long, but he will be a boom or bust. With Justin Herbert injured, who knows how the Chargers will use Ekeler moving forward? In reality, the volume won't be like last year for Ekeler. So sell him for something more consistent.

Cordarelle Patterson, RB, Atlanta Falcons

Patterson had to split carries with Tyler Allgeier last week and saw just one target last week. He was a drastic change from his 25 touches in Week 1. The Falcons are essentially doing what the Texans did. They played their veteran running back a lot in Week 1 and then moved to their rookie running back in Week 2. Patterson will not produce like he did last year.

Allen Robinson, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Allen Robinson has a ton of talent as a wide receiver. He had some significant years with Chicago as WR1. But he's not that in Los Angeles. It's Cooper Kupp's team. Robinson played 90% of snaps for the Rams last week and still only had four catches for 43 yards. That's a 14% target share. The Rams will look for him in the end zone, but the volume won't be there. Sell Robinson after he had a touchdown last week. Those might be harder to come by for him later this season.

Josh Jacobs, RB, Las Vegas Raiders Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
