Five Trades We'd Love to See Go Down Before 2022 NFL Trade Deadline
Through two weeks of the NFL season, it's very clear. Some potential playoff contenders are going to need help in some areas before they can become Super Bowl contenders.
Here are five NFL trades we'd love to see go down before the 2022 NFL Trade Deadline.
Five Trades We'd Love to See Before 2022 NFL Trade Deadline
1. Darius Slayton, WR to Green Bay Packers
The Giants' wide receiver room has been extremely weird. Darius Slayton has been a healthy scratch while Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney can't get playing time. If the Giants don't want these receivers, they should get rid of one and ship the player to Green Bay. The Packers are in need of a veteran playmaker other than Sammy Watkins.
Slayton has 124 catches in his career with nearly 2,000 yards receiving. He's also hauled in 13 touchdowns in three seasons in the NFL. The Packers might call.
2. Robert Quinn, DL, to Kansas City Chiefs
Before the season, the Chiefs had some doubters. But they've started the season 2-0 and look like a team that could easily get back to the Super Bowl again. Robert Quinn had 18.5 sacks last season and would be a force with Frank Clark, Chris Jones, and George Karlaftis on the defensive line. There are reports that Quinn wants out of Chicago. Like most players. This would be a good landing spot.
3. Dionte Johnson, WR, to Cowboys
The Cowboys are in need of a second reliable pass catcher other than CeeDee Lamb. If Dallas can stay competitive while Dak Prescott is injured, they're going to want to bring in a legitimate receiver that can make plays and get open for Prescott.
The Steelers are in rebuild mode and won't even play Kenny Pickett yet. Johnson is entering the final year of his rookie deal. If the Steelers aren't going to pay him after this season, they should deal him to a team that will. That's Dallas.
4. D'Ernest Johnson, RB to 49ers
The Cleveland Browns either have to trade Kareem Hunt or find D'Ernest Johnson a new home. With the way Hunt has played, he might not be hating his time in Cleveland anymore. But Johnson could find a home in San Francisco, especially with Elijah Mitchell being out.
5. Deion Jones, LB to Titans
Let's face it. The Falcons aren't competing for a Super Bowl this season. Deion Jones is injured right now but would cost just $1.14 million at 28 yards old for a contending team when he gets healthy. The Titans already started the season 0-2 and need some depth at linebacker. Jones would be the likely candidate.
