The sportsbooks believe the Denver Broncos have locked onto their next head coach. Sean Payton overtook the favorite spot after weeks of the job possibly going to either Jim Harbaugh or Dan Quinn.

Payton is now given -180 odds, or an implied 64.3% chance to become the next Broncos head coach. This is the only head coach opening where the favorite is given at least a 50% chance to land the job.
Quinn is still technically alive, but he’s now given +250 odds, or an implied 28.6% chance to land the job. DeMeco Ryans is also alive as a longshot at +850 or an implied 10.5% chance to get the job. No other candidate is given even a 6% chance to land the job.
The former New Orleans Saints head Coach has come a long way on this market. When the job first opened Harbaugh was the clear-cut favorite with Quinn behind him. Even Darrell Bevell had better odds than Payton.
Then Quinn jumped out in front, but even then Payton was third behind Harbaugh. With the first round of interviews complete though, the sportsbooks believe the Broncos' choice is clear. It would now be a shock for the Broncos to hire anyone other than Sean Payton.
