Aaron Rodgers Rumors: Rodgers Given 36% Chance to be Jets' Week 1 Starter After Hackett Hiring
Aaron Rodgers Rumors: Rodgers Given 36% Chance to be Jets' Week 1 Starter
Where will Aaron Rodgers play next season? That is the big question surrounding the Green Bay Packers, and the teams linked to their starting QB for that matter.
Rodgers is under contract with the Packers until 2026, but the Packers missed the playoffs this past season and a rebuild is expected in Green Bay. They already have their QB of the future in Jordan Love, so it appears to be time to move on.
If the Packers do trade Aaron Rodgers, where will he end up? One natural fit for Rodgers is the New York Jets.
The Jets were surprisingly competent this past year, going 7-10. Their defense looks to be legit and Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Tyler Conklin and Elijah Moore are legit weapons. The issue is they have no QB. But, they may very well be the ideal landing spot for Aaron Rodgers.
Before today, Rodgers' interest in New York seemed lukewarm at best. But, on Thursday the Jets hired Nathaniel Hackett as their next offensive coordinator, and all that changed. Hackett was Rodgers' offensive coordinator in Green Bay from 2019-2021. In the past, Rodgers has credited Hackett with helping him during his back-to-back MVP seasons. So, the speculation has begun that Rodgers will be the next starting QB of the New York Jets.
Fans aren't the only ones that think Rodgers may be headed to New York to play for the Jets. Our friends at PointsBet immediately made Rodgers the favorite to be the Week 1 starter for the Jets following the news about Hackett.

As you can see, Aaron Rodgers is the favorite to start for the New York Jets in Week 1, but it wasn't always that way. It was actually the news that Nathaniel Hackett had signed on to be the Jets' offensive coordinator that put him over the edge.
When the market first opened, Aaron Rodgers' odds to be the Jets' QB sat at +600. Yesterday, Rodgers' odds sat at +350. Now, he's all the way down to +175, making him the favorite.
If Rodgers doesn't become the next QB of the Jets, it appears as though Derek Carr may be the frontrunner. Carr, who has all but said he's done in Las Vegas, has +300 odds, making him the second favorite.
