Kamala Harris second-favorite to win 2024 US Presidential Election

Despite Susan Rice briefly taking over as the betting favorite in the Democratic Vice President odds market yesterday, there were no real surprises when Kamala Harris was announced as Joe Biden' running mate. Kamala Harris was the longtime betting favorite, she was at the top of the market for the majority of the year, and her odds were even as short as -162 in June.

Biden's announcement earlier today would have pleased plenty of online bettors. This year alone, 30.4% of all bets placed in the Democratic Vice President betting market were on Kamala Harris. 

Online bookmakers have been quick to predict even bigger things for Harris, they have installed her as second-favorite for the 2024 US Presidential Election behind Joe Biden. The new Democratic VP was +1000 in the market yesterday, but those odds have been slashed to +800. As mentioned, Joe Biden still remains the favorite in the betting market at +600. 

Since Joe Biden broke the news about his running mate, a massive 87% of all bets in the 2024 US Presidential Election market have been Kamala Harris.

There have been a few bettors expecting her to be President a little sooner than that, just under 10% of bets in the 2020 US Election market have been on Harris. Online bookmakers currently have her at +50000 to win the 2020 US Election, someway behind both Joe Biden (34% of bets) and Donald Trump (52% of bets).
