Seattle Mariners vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction: Can Logan Gilbert Cool Down the Brewers' Bats?

Seattle Mariners vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

The Brewers have had an outstanding start for their season, and they feel as if they can go on a run this year. When healthy, Milwaukee represents one of the best rotations in baseball, and it appears that their offense has turned the corner after struggling a season ago. If Milwaukee continues to produce at a high level offensively, this will be a team that nobody wants to see come post-season.

Seattle, meanwhile, snapped their playoff drought last year, but now they have their eyes set on much more. The Mariners have had an up-and-down start to their season as they enter play with a record of 8-9. Prior to last night's loss, the Mariners had won five games in a row, and they are hopeful to start up a new winning streak tonight.

Seattle will send Logan Gilbert out tonight to toe the rubber. Gilbert has been pretty solid to start the year, as he will be making his fourth start of the season tonight. Gilbert is 1-1 with an era of 2.70 on the young season.

On the flip side, the Brewers will send thirty-two-year-old right-hander Colin Rea to the mound. Rea has been in and out of the league since 2016 and hopes to earn a spot moving forward on the Brewers roster this year. Rea is coming off of a great start against the San Diego Padres when he went 5.2 innings and allowed just one run.

I will fade Rea tonight and trust that the Mariners will bounce back at home. I expect some regression for Rae tonight, which was great his first time out vs. the Padres. I would be surprised if he could follow that performance up tonight against a talented Mariners lineup.

On the other side, I love what Logan Gilbert brings to the table. I know that they have started hot, but I am still not sold on this Brewers lineup, and I feel as if they will struggle to produce runs tonight and Gilbert.
