Stuart Durst's Premium Pick for Nationals vs. Cardinals
In tonight’s matchup, I’m taking a hitter prop for an improving hitter on the Washington Nationals. With so many strong pitchers on the mound, we pivoted to a game with an easier situational matchup. Check out my favorite player prop in tonight’s Nationals versus Cardinals showdown.
Lane Thomas o1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI -140 Bet $100 to collect $171 DraftKings has the best odds
Lane Thomas has been one of my favorite targets all season long. As a Nationals fan, I didn't see this kind of consistency coming, but we’ve been very happy to take advantage of it. He’s always had good splits against left-handed pitchers, but he’s finally putting it together and has improved his splits across the board.
While Thomas is having a really good season hitting 290, he’s much improved, hitting .356 against left-handed pitching, with a nice .656 slugging. Over his last 18 games where he’s faced a team starting a left-handed pitcher, he has a hit in 17 of them. It's hard to get that kind of consistency anywhere, and we already saw it in the first game of the series, where he had two hits and two runs.
He's coming into this game with very good recent form, going over this number in five straight games, along with eight of his last ten. Whether or not Washington's offense is moving, he’s been reliable at the top of the lineup. He could cash this one with the humidity likely to be up today. Thomas also has really good splits at home, batting .301 at Nationals Park this year.
Hits+Runs+RBI is also more of a team bet than an individual one because you’re relying on your teammate as one of the ways to cash this bet. He’s obviously the lead-off hitter, which means he will have the most run potential with Washington's best hitters, Luis Garcia and Joey Meneses, behind him. He also does have a solid amount of RBI equity, considering Washington gets a decent amount of its production from the back of the lineup. Guys like Victor Robles, CJ Abrams, and possibly Riley Adams have good splits against left-handed pitching.
