The Dodgers travel to Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona tonight to take on the Diamondbacks in Game 3 of the NLDS. The Dodgers find themselves in a peculiar situation, as they are somehow down 2-0 in this series despite having a much better team on paper. Bad pitching has plagued the Dodgers, as they have given up 15 runs in the first two games. Can they find enough offense in this game and get a good outing from Lance Lynn to extend the series?

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction
Bad pitching has been the thorn in the Dodgers' side. In game one, the Dodgers started with a major deficit after Clayton Kershaw gave up six runs in 0.1 innings. From there, the Dodgers could not climb out of the hole and went down 0-1. In Game 2, things went slightly better, but not by much. Bobby Miller gave up three runs in 1.2 innings, and the Dodgers would go on to score only two runs and fall 4-2. The starting pitchers in the first two games have made it a combined two innings. Can Lance Lynn give them a reprieve?
Lance Lynn may not be the answer the Dodgers were hoping for. He had a 5.73 ERA in the 2023 season, which includes his stats from the White Sox. Lynn has also not fared well in the postseason in his career. Lynn has a career 5.28 ERA in the playoffs over 13 series and eight starts in 27 appearances.
The good news for the Dodgers is that the man on the other side, Brandon Pfaadt, is not very good either. Pfaadt is in his rookie season with the Diamondbacks and had a 5.72 ERA in 19 games this season. He had two starts against the Dodgers, getting destroyed in both. In the first contest, he gave up four earned runs in 4.2 innings, and in the second, he gave up five earned runs in four innings. That amounts to nine earned runs in 8.2 innings of work against the Dodgers in his rookie season.
One man I'm honing in on is Max Muncy, who needs to step up for the Dodgers. Muncy has been batting fourth this season primarily, including in both playoff games so far. He bats behind Will Smith, who follows Freddie Freeman, who follows Mookie Betts. My favorite prop is Muncy to knock in a run tonight and get at least one RBI, with one of those guys getting on base before him.
Mookie Betts leads the Dodgers with 107 RBIs, but Muncy is right behind him with 105. The reason I'm targeting Muncy here is that he will likely have at least one situation to bat in this game with Mookie in scoring position, or even Freeman. Mookie and Freeman have been mostly quiet over these first two games, but Mookie is 3-for-5 off Pfaadt with a walk for a .667 OBP, and Freeman is 4-for-6 off Pfaadt for a .667 OBP as well. If Mookie gets on, you can almost bet your last dollar that he will take off and steal, given that the Dodgers are down 0-2 in the series and need to score. That sets up Will Smith and Max Muncy right behind these two for RBI opportunities. I'm going with Muncy because he has been the RBI machine in these exact situations. He is +125 to bat a run in over at DraftKings, and I love a stab at 2+ for +330.
