Opening Day (the real one) is here and I am psyched for another great season on the diamond! Since I began my handicapping career, baseball has been one of our most successful sports and one that I absolutely love to find our groove in. We have some solid spots to choose from here on Opening Day but I still want to stay somewhat selective off the rip here. Yes, I know where I stand with a lot of teams and preseason exceptions set the bar in a lot of cases but at then end of the day you have to be fair for at least a week - right now, technically, anyone can win the whole dang thang.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction
To kick off the season, we are heading to Camden Yards for a clash between the Baltimore Orioles and the Los Angeles Angels.
Baltimore was one of the best home teams in the league last season and I only expect them to get better this season. The young, incredibly talented O's roster only got better and more experienced in the offseason as well as added strength across the board. On the flip side, Los Angeles has only gotten weaker and no longer have Shohei Ohtani in to raise hopes.
Former Cy Young award winner Corbin Burnes will take the bump and make his American League debut for the Orioles in this one and squares off against Patrick Sandoval who was 7-13 with a 4.11 ERA; he got shelled in his lone start against the O's last season. It's Opening Day so everyone will be fired up on every team in the league but for what it's worth, the incident yesterday at the Francis Scott Bridge might help motivate the guys to go out and get a win for the city here.
