Brayan Bello has an up-and-down season last year. At times, he looked like the ace of the Red Sox future, but he was far too inconsistent in 2023. I still believe in Bello, and I’m predicting a breakout season for the 24 year old right-hander. Considering the total is at 7.5, it looks like oddsmakers are predicting a low-scoring affair. That’s a great sign for Red Sox backers on Thursday.
Boston opened up as (+155) underdogs in this game. They are currently down to (+130) on the moneyline. Less than 25% of the bets, but more than 60% of the handle is currently backing Boston on the moneyline (per VSIN). Some big bets are being placed on the Red Sox tonight, including mine. There’s a reason the Red Sox are getting steamed on the moneyline against Luis Castillo in Seattle…
Instead of taking the full game moneyline for Boston, I’d rather eliminate the bullpens in this contest. The Mariners have a better bullpen than the Red Sox, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Boston blows this game late after a Bello masterclass. Let’s avoid a Red Sox meltdown on Thursday night, and back Boston in the first half. I want to back Bello to hang with Castillo in a typical pitchers duel in Seattle. Let’s avoid the late-inning disaster from Boston’s bullpen and target the Red Sox through the first five innings.
This Boston lineup will be better than people think this season. I will be targeting Bello a lot this season, because I believe in Devers and this Red Sox lineup. They can keep Boston in a lot of games, but what they lack in pitching. Bello is going to surprise some people this season, establishing himself as Boston’s clear-cut ace for years to come.
