The Braves have sneakily lost four games in a row. The Orioles, on the other hand, are on a winning streak right now, winners of their last five games in a row. After a 4-0 win last night in the first game of the series for the Orioles, how will game two play out later tonight?

Atlanta Braves vs. Baltimore Orioles Prediction
Two rookie starters will be on the mound for each team, and they haven’t pitched great so far this season. Spencer Schwellenbach will be making his third start of the season after giving up a combined nine runs against the Nationals and Red Sox. Cade Povich will be making only his second ever start in the big leagues after getting rocked by Toronto on the road last week.
On paper, this game looks like it would have 20+ runs in it considering how bad both starting pitchers have been and how potent both offenses can be. In my opinion, the under in this game is the nastiest, most contrarian play on the board for tonight’s slate. These two young starters have a combined 19.00 ERA this season, but the total is dropping from 9.5 to 8.5…
Maybe it’s because of the fact that both of these starters played together at Nebraska recently. Nobody looks at the emotional or people aspect of these games anymore, it’s all about CLV or the numbers. We are quick to forget how much confident, comfort, and added motivation a matchup against a former teammate can provide for both of these starters tonight. I love the angle of backing both young arms to have their best outings of their young professional careers on Wednesday night.
Until the Braves offense turns it around, I’m okay with continuing to fade them. Both bullpens are above average, too and until I see an offensive showcase from both of these teams in the same game, I feel good locking in the under in games this series. Fade the public and bet on the nastiest, most contrarian play on the board tonight; I’ll meet you at the cash counter after both young arms record the best starts of their young careers.
