MLB Parlay Today: Can Shohei Ohtani, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Deliver on Wednesday Night?

We have a nice Wednesday MLB Slate today and I have found two players that I really like to get base hits today in the late slate of games. They are Shohei Ohtani and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Both hitters are swinging the bat well over the last few games and I expect that to continue tonight.

MLB Parlay

Shohei Ohtani had himself a mini slump to end last month but over the last few games he has started to put together some quality at bats and now has recorded a hit in six of his last seven games. I think the price of -230 on him over on FanDuel is great value even though we don't have a starter listed for the Rangers yet. Their bullpen is not the best as they rank fifth worst in WHIP so far this season and Shohei is crushing the ball this month. In the month of June, he owns a .361 batting average.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has also been on fire, especially this last week. He has now recorded two or more hits in three straight games. He also has a hit in his last 12 out of 13 games and has been extremely consistent. Jose Soriano is on the mound for the Los Angeles Angels and he throws pretty hard, but his metrics are around average overall. He ranks in the 11th percentile in hard hit percentage and 21st percentile in average exit velocity allowed. I think Gurriel is more than capable of getting a hit off him and if he doesn't, I like his chances against the Angels bullpen who are also below average. They've allowed the second worst ERA and ninth worst WHIP so far this season.

At plus money for this hit parlay, I think its a great value so I am taking it for 1 unit at +100 odds.
