This one is pretty simple, so we will keep it brief. Detroit has an offense that I want to keep picking on right now. We did it yesterday with Seth Lugo and he dominated. Cole Ragans should pitch a gem today, and the pitcher on the other side is the front runner for the Cy Young trophy.

All we need is three outs from Skubal today in the 2nd inning, and nothing more. He has a 1.95 home ERA, and should avoid scary plate appearances against a red-hot Bobby Witt. He may still face Salvy if he goes 1-2-3 in the first inning, but I like our odds here.
Detroit is without Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter, so their 4-9 batters yesterday consisted of Malloy, Madris, Dingler, Urshela, McKinstry, and Kreidler. This is less than inspiring, and I think Ragans is one of the most elite pitchers in baseball. Last time out vs. Detroit, he pitched six innings of shutout ball and only allowed ONE hit. I don’t think we see a run in the 2nd inning, and I don’t think Detroit can score seven runs or more. Let's roll!
