New York Mets vs. St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
Sean Manaea is coming off one of the best starts of his career. He pitched seven innings and racked up 11 strikeouts against the Twins in his last start, only allowing two hits. Considering the odds on the Mets moneyline have moved from (-130) to (-110) throughout the day, it’s not looking like Manaea will be throwing another gem on Monday night…
Andre Palate has sneakily been solid over the last month or so. In his last eight starts, Pallante has allowed two or less runs in five of those outings. He’s lowered his ERA from a 6.16 to 4.04 during that span, an impressive feat. Considering the total in this game is on the rise from 8.5 to 9, one of these two thriving starters is going to be allowing some runs in this makeup game. Based on where the odds on the moneyline are moving, I’ll take my chances with Pallante and the Cardinals at home.
Fading a starting pitcher coming off a great outing has been an angle for me betting MLB for years. Manaea is coming off an absolute gem, but the Cardinals have moved to a Pick ‘Em on most books. Ride with the Cardinals and the sharp team on their moneyline. Less than 35% of the bets and handle are backing the Cardinals, but they’ve gotten plenty of steam…
Both of these teams are playing for their postseason lives right now. I’ll ride with the underrated Cardinals starter and their veteran lineup at home against a veteran left-hander.
