MLB Prop Pick Parlay: Can Yordan Alvarez, Luis Arraez Deliver on Monday?
MLB Prop Pick Parlay: Can Yordan Alvarez, Luis Arraez Deliver on Monday?
We have a smaller MLB slate for Monday, and I am back with another hit parlay for it that I think has a great chance to cash for us. I am going to be backing two very reliable and consistent hitters today, and I'm taking them both for one or more hits today. Those two hitters are Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros and Luis Arraez of the San Diego Padres. Let's cash on another hit parlay!
August 19th MLB Prop Picks
Yordan Alvarez has been on a crazy hot streak this past month, sporting a .380 batting average in the month of August. He has now recorded a hit in 11 of the last 14 games, going for 2+ hits in six of the last 10 games. He hasn't played as well at home compared to on the road this season, but this has improved this month as he now has a hit in seven of his last eight home games. He will matchup up with Red Sox righty Tanner Houck today, who he just faced a few weeks ago. He did not record a hit in that matchup, but did end with two hits in the game. Both of his batted balls that resulted in outs were hit hard however (92 & 102 MPH exit velocity). Houck has a lower walk rate, so I am less concerned about walks for Yordan than I typically would be. Against Boston, he has recorded 2+ hits in five of the last six matchups. I think he delivers for us here and gets us a base hit.
To round out the hit parlay, I will be taking one of the safest hitters to take for 1+ hit and that is Luis Arraez. Arraez is swinging a hot bat and has recorded two or more hits in five of his last seven games. Prior to his last stint with the Marlins, Arraez played in Minnesota so there is a bit of a revenge angle there. I bet he would love to deliver a great performance against his former team. Arraez has also been hot at home as of late, going for one or more hits in seven of his last eight home starts. Zebby Matthews will be on the mound for Minnesota, making his second career MLB start. He allowed a .292 expected batting average in his first start, and I expect that it may be a similar result here against a Padres team that hits righties very well on the year.
