We have a loaded MLB slate for Friday, and I'm really liking a parlay that I just locked in. I am going to playing a hit parlay consisting of three very consistent hitters, and I expect that they will be able to deliver for us today. The three hitters I am adding to today's parlay are Yordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros, Luis Arraez of the San Diego Padres, and Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
August 23rd MLB Prop Picks
The first leg of the parlay will be Luis Arraez of the Padres. He has been one of the most consistent hitters over the past few seasons. He now has recorded a hit in 10 of the last 13 games, with two or more hits in seven of the last 13 games. He will matchup against Paul Blackburn, who has gone 1-for-3 against in his career. Blackburn ranks in the 24th percentile in expected batting average allowed this season. He has pitched well as of late, but he hasn't gone against a good lineup since arriving to the Mets, so the Padres will be his first true test in my opinion. I expect Arraez to deliver us a hit here for our first leg.
Yordan Alvarez has been very great this month. He now has a hit in five of the last six games and in seven of the last nine road games. I expect five or more plate appearances for Yordan today, which is great for this prop. When he has five or more plate appearances, he has a hit in 11 of the last 12 games. Cade Povich has struggled this season and allows a high barrel rate on the year. Yordan is hitting .471 against lefties in August, so I expect that he will be able to deliver in this matchup today.
To round out the parlay we will be taking Corbin Carroll. Another guy who has been consistent at the plate, Carroll has a hit in 12 of his last 13 starts. He will likely also see five or more plate appearances, especially with how the D-backs have been hitting righties. They lead the MLB in wRC+ over the last 15 days against right-handed pitching. I think Bello is a great matchup for Carroll as well. He ranks in the 24th percentile in expected batting average allowed, which is great for taking hit props. I also love taking Carroll because of his speed. He is a player that can beat out soft ground balls for infield hits, which increases our odds of cashing on his hit prop.
