Best Bets Today: Wednesday's MLB Parlay from Calling Our Shot

Welcome to the Parlay of the Day, brought to you by Calling Our Shot. We've now cashed three straight parlays. If you haven't been tailing, don't worry. Tail today. We cooked up a 4th straight winner below!

WEDNESDAY'S MLB PARLAY

LEG 1: Astros & Phillies Both 1+ Runs in the First 5 Innings

Our first leg of the Parlay: Astros and Phillies Each to score 1 first 5 innings. This leg of the parlay needs each team to score at least 1 run through the first 5 innings of this game.

We have some favorable pitching matchups for some runs in the first 5 innings today. Let’s start with Taijuan Walker who faces the Astros today. The Astros are coming off a shutout yesterday. Taijuan Walker is just the bounce back they need. Since coming back from injury, Walker has a 9.26 ERA. The Astros bats will wake up against a pitcher that fails to miss bats and limit sharp contact. The Phillies face off against Spencer Arrighetti today. Arrighetti is coming off a great start in Baltimore but his ERA on the road this season is still 5.49. This Phillies team is hitting .302 at home this month and I’m trusting them to do damage once again today.

LEG 2: Marlins & Rockies Both 1+ Runs in the First 5 Innings

Our second leg of the Parlay: Marlins & Rockies Each to score one in the first 5 innings. Yesterday, we were on this identical bet and it cashed by the 3rd Inning. Today, I could see a similar fate.

At Coors Field, you start with great hitting conditions on your side. Now factor in two below average pitchers and you get a recipe for runs early in this game. The Marlins will face off against Kyle Freeland. Freeland owns a 5.70 ERA this season. He has pitched better at home BUT he will face a Marlins team that has been great vs. Lefties. 12 of the last 13 Left Handed Starting Pitchers to face the Marlins allowed 2+ ER. The one that didn't still allowed one run in the First 5.

The Rockies will face Max Meyer. Meyer is terrible. He owns a 5.44 ERA. He's allowed at least one home run in five of his last six starts. He's allowed 3+ Earned Runs in six straight games. Have fun pitching in Coors Field, Max. He will get rocked.
