Sunday Night Baseball features the third and final rubber match between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. Citi Park has been good to the Mets in 2025, entering tonight with an 18-6 home record.
Landon Knack will be the starting pitcher for Los Angeles with a 6.17 ERA and 2-1 record this season. Kodai Senga will lead the way for the Mets on the mound with an impressive 1.43 ERA and 4-3 record as a starter.
Both of these National League opponents are well above .500. The Dodgers lead a stacked NL West by two games over the San Francisco Giants, while the Mets are three games behind the Phillies in the NL East.
Despite good overall records, both Los Angeles and New York are at or below .500 in their last ten games played. This is the first road game series for the Dodgers in two weeks. They managed to split the first two games, beating the Mets 7-5 on Friday, before losing 5-2 on Saturday.

Dodgers vs. Mets Prediction
The Mets own the pitching edge in tonight's matchup against the Dodgers. Senga has been red-hot in 2025, allowing four total runs across his last four starts. Tonight will be a big test against a stacked Dodgers lineup, ranking second in runs per game (5.71) and total home runs (81) this season.
Knack doesn't have nearly the same pedigree as Senga. The Dodgers' starting pitcher has surrendered at least four runs in consecutive starts, which came at home against the Athletics and Diamondbacks. On the road as a starter, Knack has allowed four to five hits against the Nationals and Marlins.
The Mets have a lot of talent in their lineup to match the reigning World Series champions. Pete Alonso leads New York with 38 RBIs. Francisco Lindor has 10 home runs, while Juan Soto leads the team with 33 total runs scored. Brandon Nimmo is the fourth player in New York's lineup with over 20 RBIs and at least eight home runs recorded this season.
Oddsmakers value this game as a near pick'em with the Mets at home as -112 moneyline favorites. The total runs line is set to 8.5, leaning on the over at -115 odds.
Here are a few interesting trends ahead of Sunday Night Baseball at Citi Field. The underdogs have won in each of the Mets' last five games played. Eight of the last nine head-to-head matchups between the Mets and Dodgers has gone over the total runs line. The NRFI has hit in eight of the Mets' last nine games as a home favorite against NL West opponents. New York has failed to cover the run line after a win in six straight attempts. Los Angeles has lead after three innings as an underdog against NL East opponents in three straight attempts.
If we follow these trends, it suggests fading the Mets on the moneyline and run line. It also says the Dodgers will grab an early lead, with the run total likely finishing at or above nine runs.
Senga is coming off of his worst game played in May, allowing five hits, three runs, and three walks against the Boston Red Sox on the road. At home, Senga has been lights out, holding the Marlins, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, and Pirates to one total run.
Obviously, the Dodgers are a step up in class from most of these teams, excluding the Diamondbacks. Senga gets to play in the comfortable confines of Citi Field in a prime-time matchup on Memorial Day weekend. It feels like we could see him put on a clinic against Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and the rest of this potent Dodgers lineup.
The three-headed monster of Lindor, Soto and Alonso is appealing at home, even off of a win. Knack has not been good on the road and is coming off of two straight lackluster starts.
New York's offense ranks just above the league average (4.34) in runs per game at 4.37, which is 13th out of 30 MLB teams. The Dodgers haven't been great on the road in 2025 and don't own the pitching edge tonight.
Let's bet one unit on the New York Mets' moneyline at -112 odds to win their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday Night Baseball.
