It’s been a tough week without football as we wait for the Super Bowl, but we’ve got to bet on something in the meantime, right? I’ve got a CBB two-teamer that I can’t stop thinking about. Let’s dive right into it…
College Basketball Parlay
Miami vs. Virginia Prediction
Don’t look now, but the Virginia Cavaliers are quietly playing their best basketball of the season right now. They’ve won six games in a row, and are showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. As soon as Coach Bennett stopped forcing Jordan Minor to play out of his comfort-zone, this team has improved drastically.
Miami, on the other hand, hasn’t been able to put it together this season. Wooga Poplar is clearly playing through an injury, and Matthew Cleveland has been far too inconsistent for this team to find success. This team is a shell of themself from last season.
These two ACC teams are trending in different directions. Let’s back the red-hot Cavaliers to earn another victory at home, keeping their win streak alive. The spread opened up at UVA -4, but the ‘Hoos are now laying -5.5 on the spread on most books. Bet them on the moneyline to take care of business, and hand the fraudulent Miami Hurricanes their third loss in six games.
Houston Christian vs. New Orleans Prediction
Now, let’s get to the fun part. There aren’t many great college basketball games today, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t winners to be found! I’ve got my eyes on the Southland conference…
Tonight, the Houston Christian Huskies head to New Orleans in an attempt to beat the Privateers for the second time this season. It’s very difficult to beat a team twice in conference, and I’m willing to bet HCU won’t shoot 64% from three on the road tonight like they did in the first matchup.
The Huskies shot out of their minds when these teams faced-off in late-January. If they shoot over 60% from three again, I’ll charge it to the game, but I don’t see the Huskies finding success on the road tonight like they did in that last game. If they were to replicate that success, they probably wouldn’t be getting 6.5 points on the spread.
This line is very telling. Oddsmakers are clearly expecting New Orleans to end their six-game losing streak tonight, and the spread continues to get steamed towards the Privateers. Let’s take New Orleans on the moneyline in this two-teamer parlay.
