It’s been a rough year for the Providence Friars. They lost their head coach, best player, and are coming off their worst loss in recent history. This is the exact spot I want to back the Friars in. Let me tell you why I’m betting on Providence tonight.

Creighton vs. Providence Prediction
It’s not like Creighton has been playing great recently, either. They just lost to Butler outright on their home floor as -10 favorites. This team is severely overrated. They have the guys, but Coach McDermott has yet to put it all together.
Providence fought hard against Creighton when these two teams played in early January. They lost 69-60, and their defense wasn’t the issue. It’s never the defense that I worry about with this Providence team, it’s their offense. Well, it's a good thing Creighton’s defense hasn’t been able to stop a parked car for the majority of the season.
I think we can all agree that this spread looks a little short. Even with Creighton coming off a loss, they are still a ranked team and the overall perception is that they are significantly better than the Friars. I beg to differ, though. Considering Providence is coming off their worst offensive performance of the season, I’m willing to bet they come out firing against this weak perimeter defense tonight.
This is an all-time buy-low spot for the Friars. It can’t get worse than whatever we saw against Villanova over the weekend where they shot 29% from the field. Buy-low on the Friars, and continue to fade this overvalued Creighton team. If Providence is going to turn around their recent offensive struggles, it’s going to be at home tonight against a Creighton team that just gave up 99 points to Butler.
Nobody wants to bet on Providence today, and that’s exactly the spot we want to be in. Less than 20% of the bets are currently backing Providence to cover in this game, but the spread has moved from PROV +2.5 to PROV +1.5 on some books. This reverse line movement is a great sign for Providence backers. Ride with the sharps and back the Friars at home tonight; Creighton has proven that they are simply overvalued in the betting market.
