Check out this expert pick and latest odds for Texas Tech vs. Florida in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday night.

Texas Tech vs. Florida Pick, Odds: Expert Prediction for Red Raiders vs. Gators Elite Eight Showdown

No. 1 seed Florida takes on No. 3 seed Texas Tech with a trip to the Final Four on the line.

Florida cruised by Norfolk State in the first round, but UConn nearly pulled off a stunner in the Round of 32. The Gators escaped with a 77–75 win, despite being outplayed for much of the game. In the Sweet 16, they struggled to contain Derik Queen (27 points), but a balanced offensive showing — six players in double figures — powered Florida past Maryland, 87–71.

Texas Tech won its first two tournament games by double digits over UNC Wilmington and Drake. In the Sweet 16, the Red Raiders staged an improbable 16-point comeback late in the second half to edge Arkansas 85–83 in overtime. Christian Anderson, JT Toppin, and Darrion Williams combined for 62 points, with Williams hitting the game-tying three in regulation and the game-winner in OT.

A couple of injury notes: Texas Tech’s Chance McMillian is unlikely to return due to an oblique injury. Florida’s Alex Condon re-aggravated an ankle sprain vs. Maryland, but returned to action and appears close to 100%.

Texas Tech vs. Florida Prediction

Tech looked outmatched for stretches against Arkansas but showed elite composure late. Offensively, they’re disciplined and intentional, with crafty guards like Anderson and Elijah Hawkins, and isolation weapons in Toppin and Williams. This is one of the best three-point shooting teams in the country (37%), even though they’ve been ice-cold in the tournament — just 28%, 14%, and 25% in their first three games. That feels due for some correction.

While McMillian’s absence takes a bite out of their rotation, the offensive chemistry and star power of their frontcourt still make this a dangerous team.

That said — Florida is a different beast. The Gators haven’t even played their best basketball yet in this tournament, and they just handed Maryland its worst loss of the season. Their depth, pace, perimeter shooting, and relentless offensive rebounding make them a matchup nightmare.

Texas Tech has enough offensive firepower to keep it close for a while, but I don’t see them getting enough stops to stay in range. Florida’s attack is just too potent — and I don't see why I should feel any sort of confidence in Texas Tech's undersized lineup slowing them down much at all.
