Washington's seventh consecutive victory was its most convincing of the run. The Mystics dismantled Phoenix 95-75 on Sunday behind 19 points and 11 rebounds from Shakira Austin and another 19 points from Sonia Citron.
Two nights earlier, Washington beat Atlanta 79-74 as Austin delivered 21 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks. The Mystics also erased a 20-point deficit to beat Dallas 96-92 on August 5, showing that the streak has included both dominant performances and games in which they have had to respond to significant adversity.
Las Vegas returns home after losing 98-87 at Minnesota on Saturday and then getting routed 111-71 by New York on Sunday. The Aces rested A'ja Wilson, Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young against the Liberty after the demanding road schedule, so the 40-point margin needs to be viewed in that context.
