Tonight’s contest between LSU and Florida State will be the first of the season between top 10 ranked teams. There’s a lot of hype surrounding both programs after solid 2022 campaigns. These teams also blessed us with an electric season opener a year ago when the Seminoles blocked an extra point to win the game. Tonight, these two “blue clip” programs face off for round two of this neutral series.

LSU vs. Florida State Prediction
Brian Kelly has Tigers fans excited again after a 10-win season. Many are picking them to make some noise in the SEC this season and even potentially even making the college football playoffs. I’m higher on the Seminoles, who, if they play their cards right, will have a good shot at another ACC title.
People forget the Seminoles also won 10 games last season, and although their schedule might not be as tough, some of their wins were just as impressive. I give FSU a slight edge at QB, but both Jayden Daniels at LSU and Jordan Travis at FSU are elite college quarterbacks. The Seminoles have a slight advantage at wide receiver, too, with Keon Coleman teaming up with Johnny Wilson, one of the best skill players in the nation.
LSU will be without their best defensive player in this contest. Maason Smith is serving a suspension this week, leaving the already-suspect Tigers defense without a key defensive lineman. The Tigers' secondary is below average. Expect Travis and the Seminoles to take advantage of this tonight.
This is a revenge spot for LSU, but this has led the public to hammer the Tigers with bets. We’ve seen reverse line movement on the Seminoles, though, which is a great sign for underdog backers. Fade the public and back the ACC sleeper to sweep the Tigers in this series. Jordan Travis is a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate, and I’ve got the Seminoles winning the ACC this season. They start their impressive season with a win on a neutral field against the over-hyped Tigers tonight.
