Texas A&M vs. Miami Prediction, Pick, Odds: Are The Hurricanes For Real in 2023?
The Miami Hurricanes were called out in their Week 1 matchup against the Miami (OH) RedHawks. The RedHawks exclaimed that they were the "real" Miami team, only to lose to the Hurricanes, 38-3 in embarrassing fashion. The Hurricanes have some things to work on. But that 35-point win likely wouldn't have happened last year. For example, the Hurricanes lost by double-figures to Middle Tennessee State last year. Those days are over. Now, it's time to earn significant wins. They'll face a top-25 ranked Texas A&M Aggies team that would help Miami's resume immensely going into ACC play. Are the Miami Hurricanes finally making progress?
Here are our picks, predictions, and odds for Saturday's game between the Texas A&M Aggies vs. Miami Hurricanes.

Texas A&M vs. Miami Prediction
Miami earned a convincing win against the Miami (OH) RedHawks in Week 1. Quarterback play still has room for improvement. However, the run game added nearly seven yards per carry behind four players who earned at least eight carries.
Three of those running backs earned a run of at least 20 yards.
That allowed Miami to earn 493 yards of offense, including 250 on the ground. The Hurricanes were much better on the ground than in the air.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes threw one interception and earned no takeaways on the other side of the ball.
If you look past Miami's inability to earn a turnover on defense, then that Miami defense was imposing. They held the RedHawks to 215 yards and allowed just nine first downs. They also held Miami (OH) to two third-down conversions on 12 tries.
They held a veteran college quarterback, Brett Gabbert, to just 127 yards passing. He had a QBR of 38.2.
Meanwhile, Texas A&M defeated New Mexico, 52-10. The competition for Texas A&M was weaker, but the Aggies took care of business. Connor Weigman added 236 yards passing with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Evan Stewart and Noah Thomas added at least six catches and had multiple touchdowns. However, the receiving core dropped off after that, with everyone else earning three or fewer catches in that game.
The Aggies had nine penalties against New Mexico. They weren't very disciplined. And while the Aggies didn't turn the ball over, they only added one takeaway against New Mexico.
The defense held New Mexico to 222 points. They also held New Mexico to 3-13 on third downs. But the pass protection still wasn't excellent. There's too much hype surrounding Connor Weigman after his career day against New Mexico.
Miami's run defense and pass rush looks way better than Texas A&M's. The secondary for Miami was also more dominant than I could've ever imagined in Week 1.
I was a Miami hater at the beginning of the season. But now I'm a believer. Give me the Hurricanes at +5.
