Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco Prediction
The San Francisco 49ers vs. the Philadelphia Eagles will meet up from Lincoln Financial Field in Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. These have been the two best teams in the NFC this season, so this is not a surprise that the two will meet up here in the Championship.
The Eagles have been led by Jalen Hurts, who turned in an MVP-caliber season. Hurts was the betting favorite to win the MVP when he sustained an injury and missed two games in a row. The Eagles lost both games that their star QB did not start this season. In games that Hurts did start, the Birds went 14-1. He is the heartbeat of this team and has shown how great of a leader he is this year. This will be the biggest game of Hurt's young career tonight.
San Francisco, meanwhile, has had a wild season from the quarterback position. The year started with Trey Lance, who was injured in week two. Jimmy Garoppolo would take over for Lance, but then he suffered an injury vs. the Dolphins. Purdy would come on and win the game, but what followed that win would be something nobody could see coming. Purdy has gone a perfect 7-0 since taking over as the starter, including a 2-0 playoff record. This will undoubtedly be the most challenging task for Purdy in his young career, going into a hostile environment today. San Fran is led by the best defense in football and one of the best rushing attacks in the game. They are not an offense known for pushing the ball down the field, but their style of play can be tough to beat if you fall behind early.
I am going to back a prop for this game today. I will be turning to the services of the Eagles' top wide receiver A.J. Brown. Brown was quiet in the Eagle's win over the Giants, but I do not expect that to be the result this time around vs. San Francisco. As great as this 49ers' defense has been, their weakness is their secondary, and they have struggled to stop top wide receivers as of late. Ceedee Lamb lit them up for 117 yards last week. Before that, DK Metcalf went for 136 yards. Brown is a similar wideout and will be extremely difficult to shut down tonight. I expect a big game out of Brown when the moment matters most.
