The Lions got embarrassed on Thanksgiving. Now the public is sprinting to the counter to bet them in a bounce-back spot. I’m not so sure that’s a great idea…

Detroit Lions vs. New Orleans Saints Prediction
Jared Goff lost the Lions their Thanksgiving game with his reckless play and turnovers. He looked the worst he has in years, like when he was on the Rams a few years ago. This afternoon, he gets a chance to pick his team up with a bounce-back performance against the Saints. I’m not sure the public is going to get the Goff masterclass they’re expecting.
Over 80% of the public is backing Detroit on the road against the Saints, one of the most public plays of the day. With all of those bets piling up on the Lions, we’ve seen the spread move back from DET -4.5 to DET -4. This reverse line movement is a great sign for Saints backers.
The Saints are coming off two embarrassing losses as road favorites. Luckily for the Saints, they’ll be returning home this weekend. The Saints play much better at home, and Jared Goff and the Lions have struggled on the road over the years. Not to mention Goff’s struggles against the Packers on Thanksgiving.
One poor performance wouldn’t typically concern me, but this is Jared Goff we are talking about here. We’ve seen him struggle at times with his confidence under center; the last thing he needed to happen was an atrocious performance where he cost his team the game. Well, that’s exactly what Goff did. He didn’t make any big-time throws, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this problem carries into this weekend.
This Saints’ defense is no slouch, and I’m willing to give Derek Carr one last chance to win me some money this season. Bet the Saints as a short home dog against a Lions team who may have lost some confidence on Thanksgiving.
