New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Prediction, Pick Against the Spread, Latest Odds for TNF

The New York Jets will host the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football.

New England rolls into this contest with a record of 1-1.

Jerod Mayo got his career off to a strong start, picking up an upset win in Week 1 over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Patriots entered Week 1 as the largest underdog on the board.

In Week 2, New England gave the Seattle Seahawks everything they could handle but came up short 23-20 in overtime.

Entering the season, New England was expected to be one of the worst teams in football, but after two weeks, the Pats appear to be better than expected.

After two decades of not having a losing season, the Patriots have posted losing seasons in back-to-back years. Last year was the Patriots' worst season since 1992, when they went 2-14.

New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Prediction

Veteran Jacoby Brissett leads the New England offense. Brissett has thrown for 270 yards and one touchdown this season.

Rhamondre Stevenson leads the Patriots rushing attack. Stevenson ranks 5th in football, racking up 201 yards and two touchdowns.

Tight end Hunter Henry has been the top option in the passing game, racking up 127 yards.

The Patriots defense ranks 5th in points allowed per game (16.5).

New York begins this contest with a 1-1 record. After being blown out by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, the Jets bounced back with a road win over the Tennessee Titans.

Tonight will be the home opener for this talented Jets team. New York was the co-betting favorite, along with the Buffalo Bills, to win the AFC East coming into the year.

After a sluggish first half, the Jets' offense had their way with the Titans last weekend. 20-year-old Braelon Allen became the youngest player in NFL history to score two touchdowns in a game.

Veteran Aaron Rodgers commands the Jets offense. Rodgers has thrown for 343 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

Breece Hall is off to a strong start this season, having dashed for 116 yards and one touchdown.

Garrett Wilson has been Rodgers' favorite target. The former Ohio State standout has collected 117 yards. Former Packer Allen Lazard leads the wide receiver core with two touchdowns.

The Jets defense ranks 25th allowing 24.5 points per game.

New England Patriots vs. New York Jets Betting Pick

NFL underdogs of 6+ points are unbeaten against the spread so far this season. That trend is due for regression tonight.

New England has looked solid in the first two weeks, but they have played above their abilities.

I expect the Patriots offense to struggle to score points tonight against a Jets defense that has underperformed early in the year.

Rodgers and the Jets' offense will get better as the season goes on, and they will have their way against the Patriots' defense tonight.
