San Francisco 49ers Brock Purdy

Chiefs vs. 49ers Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest Odds

The San Francisco 49ers will look for Super Bowl revenge on Sunday afternoon when they host the Kansas City Chiefs. Can Brock Purdy and the Niners spoil the Chiefs' undefeated record with a home victory? Matt McCuen think so, and explains why in his Chiefs vs. 49ers prediction.

Chiefs vs. 49ers Prediction, Betting Pick, Latest Odds

The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will meet in a Super Bowl rematch on Sunday afternoon.

San Francisco comes into this game with a disappointing 3-3 record. Entering the season, San Fran was expected to be the best team in the NFC.

One positive aspect of San Francisco's sluggish start is that the rest of the NFC West has not been great, either. The 49ers lead the NFC West and remain the betting favorites to win the division. The Niners will look to build off a 36-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks last Thursday.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers Prediction

Former Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy commands the Niners' offense. Purdy has thrown for 1,629 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Jordan Mason has led the backfield since the injury to the reigning offensive player of the year, Christian McCaffrey. Mason has rushed for 609 yards, ranking second in the NFL.

Jauan Jennings has collected a team-high 404 receiving yards and three touchdowns this season.

The Niners' defense ranks 12th in points allowed per game (21.7).

Kansas City begins the contest with a perfect 5-0 record. The Chiefs and the Vikings remain the only undefeated teams in the NFL. KC is looking to make history this season and win their third consecutive Super Bowl. The Chiefs' undefeated record is impressive, but they have not played their best football yet.

Kansas City ranks 15th in points per game (23.6). KC has been a consistent top-five offense in the Patrick Mahomes era, with the exception of last season.

Injuries have been an issue early in the year for KC, who has been without starting running back Isiah Pacheco and wide receiver Rashee Rice. The Chiefs most recently beat the New Orleans Saints last Monday at home.

Mahomes leads the KC offensive unit with 1,235 yards, six touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Kareem Hunt has rushed for 171 yards and one touchdown over two games.

Travis Kelce has been the favorite target of Mahomes hauling in 24 passes worth 228 yards.

KC has allowed 17.0 points per game, ranking 6th in scoring defense.

We will ride with the home team today in what should be one of the best games of the season.

San Francisco is much better than their 3-3 record indicates, and I expect them to go on a run sooner rather than later.

KC has not impressed me despite being 5-0. The injures KC has sustained on offense will be an issue moving forward.

Mahomes has not looked as dominant as usual this season, and will struggle on the road against this strong 49ers defense.
