4 Minute ReadBC Lions vs. Calgary Stampeders Prediction: Can Vernon Adams, Stampeders Bounce Back on Thursday Night?
Calgary hosts BC in Week 11 of the CFL season on Thursday night. The Stampeders are -5.5 (-112) favorites and -270 on the moneyline, while the Lions are +5.5 (-108) and +220 to win outright. The total is set at 64.5, with the over priced at -105 and the under at -115. Calgary enters 4-5, while BC has improved to 3-5.
BC has won two straight and finally got Rourke back last week, but the performance was far from dominant. Calgary is coming home after a 33-30 loss in Toronto ended its winning streak, and the Stampeders have already demonstrated that their offense can overwhelm this Lions defense. A return to McMahon Stadium creates an ideal bounce-back spot.

BC Lions vs. Calgary Stampeders Prediction
Calgary lost on a walk-off field goal despite forcing five Toronto turnovers in Week 10. Vernon Adams Jr. and the offense still produced 30 points after scoring 44 against Hamilton and 52 against Winnipeg in the previous two games. Adams threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns in the Winnipeg win, while Tyreik McAllister produced touchdowns as a runner, receiver and returner. The Stampeders have consistently shown a scoring ceiling that few CFL teams can match.
Rourke returned from injury and threw for 370 yards in BC’s 27-24 victory over Hamilton, but the Lions needed Sean Whyte’s late field goal to escape against a 3-6 opponent. Rourke completed 22 of 39 passes and acknowledged that he was still working back into game rhythm. BC had previously beaten Winnipeg 35-19 without him, so the Lions have unquestionably improved, but neither victory required them to match the scoring pace Calgary can generate when its offense is clicking.
The first meeting strongly favors the Stampeders angle. Calgary went into BC and won 41-33 on June 27, scoring in every quarter and putting 24 points on the board before halftime. Rourke threw multiple touchdown passes in that matchup, yet the Lions still could not keep pace once Calgary began creating explosive plays. The rematch now shifts to McMahon Stadium, where BC must find another level offensively just to stay attached.
BC Lions vs. Calgary Stampeders Pick
- Pick: Stampeders -5.5 (-112) Check out these best odds at DraftKings Sportsbook
BC’s back-to-back wins make the Lions more dangerous than their record suggests, particularly with Rourke capable of producing 300-plus passing yards even while shaking off rust. The problem is that Calgary’s offense has already proven it can score into the 40s and 50s against stronger opposition, and the Stampeders should enter with urgency after letting a winnable game escape in Toronto. Laying 5.5 requires separation, but Calgary has the offensive firepower to create it.
