Ottawa Redblacks vs. Winnipeg Blue Bombers Prediction
Ottawa fell 42-20 at Saskatchewan last week, remaining the CFL’s only winless team. Trevor Harris and Tommy Stevens controlled the second half, with Stevens rushing for three touchdowns for the second consecutive week. The Redblacks had previously lost 34-13 to Montreal, meaning they have been beaten by a combined 43 points across their past two games after several earlier losses were decided by much narrower margins.
Winnipeg enters rested after consecutive home defeats against Calgary and BC. The Bombers allowed 52 points to the Stampeders as Dru Brown threw four interceptions, then followed with a 35-19 loss to the Lions. Those performances explain why Winnipeg is only 4-4, but Brady Oliveira remains one of the league’s premier running backs and the Bombers still have enough defensive talent to dominate an Ottawa offense that has struggled to sustain drives.
Ottawa did push Winnipeg into overtime earlier this season before the Bombers escaped 36-34. The Redblacks carried a 26-9 advantage into the fourth quarter before Brown engineered the comeback, another brutal example of Ottawa’s inability to close games. That result provides some evidence for taking the points, but Ottawa has deteriorated since then while Winnipeg gets the rematch at home with additional preparation time.
