Edmonton is a six-point home favorite at -112, with Winnipeg +6 (-108). The Elks are -265 on the moneyline, the Blue Bombers are +215, and the total is 59.5. Friday night's matchup airs on CBS Sports Network with Edmonton entering 7-3 and Winnipeg sitting at 5-4.
The Elks delivered one of their strongest performances of the season last weekend, crushing Toronto 42-12 at Commonwealth Stadium. Edmonton led just 11-9 at halftime before completely taking control, scoring 31 second-half points while its defense repeatedly created short fields and eventually added an interception return touchdown.

That result was especially important after consecutive losses to Saskatchewan and Montreal had interrupted Edmonton's outstanding start. Cody Fajardo continues to provide veteran stability at quarterback, while Justin Rankin has given the Elks a reliable rushing presence and the defense has consistently created turnovers. At 7-3, Edmonton has established itself as a legitimate West contender rather than an early-season surprise.
Winnipeg finally stopped its own slide with a 33-21 victory over winless Ottawa. Zach Collaros returned after missing four games and completed 21 of 31 passes for 222 yards, but the offense still left points on the field and allowed four sacks. Brady Oliveira was much more important to the victory as Winnipeg leaned on its running game and special teams.
That win does not completely erase what happened before the bye. Winnipeg had dropped consecutive home games, including a 35-19 loss to BC in which the defense surrendered a franchise-record 377 rushing yards. Beating Ottawa was necessary, but the Blue Bombers now step directly back up in competition against one of the league's better teams.
Edmonton already owns a victory in this matchup. The Elks went into Winnipeg in Week 4 and won 23-18, continuing a reversal in a series the Blue Bombers controlled for years. Edmonton also beat Winnipeg 25-20 at Commonwealth Stadium late last season, so the Elks have now shown multiple times that they can handle this matchup on both sides of the ball.
The six-point spread is meaningful, but Edmonton's current ceiling makes it worth laying. Winnipeg has not looked like the dominant version that controlled the West for much of the previous decade, while the Elks just responded to their first real rough patch by demolishing Toronto by 30 points.
