Mexico Open Prediction: Can Tony Finau Find Success at Vidanta?
Well, we are about to embark on one of the slower weeks on tour - hard to follow the Genesis Invitational and Pebble Beach when the Arnold Palmer Invitational, PLAYERS Championship and The Masters are all right around the corner.
With that said, I have enjoyed the Mexico Open and loved watching Jon Rahm light this course up two years ago before winning his green jacket a month later. The field is nowhere near as strong as we have seen lately but that sets up our leading man for a prime finish this week and that is what we are backing.

MEXICO OPEN Prediction
I am not crazy about Tony Finau in the greater scheme of things; don't get me wrong - I would cut off a toe or two to play golf like he does but he's not one of those guys I think is winning a Major this year. With that said, there is no questioning the fact that he is arguably the best player in the field here and his success at this track is legit. In the two years the Mexico Open has been hosted at Vidante/Vallarta. Two years ago, Big Tone finished T2 behind Jon Rahm and last year he surged ahead of the field for three stroke victory over defending champion Jon Rahm (not an easy man to beat) posting a score of twenty-four under par to claim his sixth PGA TOUR victory.
A six time winner on the PGA TOUR defending his title, I like him to be near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday and this feels like a fair price. If he is not in contention this week, it is a disappointment and he knows that. Not often will he be in a field where he is the best, he needs to do something with it.
